My blogging beginning

Hello, thank you for taking time to stop by and visit my new blog that sits within my site at The Paper Unicorn Photography, formerly known as MGMPhotography3. For several years I have been building up to this point of a "re-branding" of sorts. We all start somewhere, trying to figure out exactly what our niche is and what it is we excel in or strive for. For me I find that children's portraiture is my utmost favorite thing to photograph, perhaps at times I still feel like a child at heart. I tend to forget I am in my mid 30's because I still like to daydream, I have a short attention span, and my mind wanders off to the mythical and magical quite often. I tend to take these small quirks of mine and implement them within my portraits of children. If you love whimsy, all that is beautiful, eclectic, and sometimes vintage, along with hearing your child giggle all through your session then I'm your gal.

I am so excited to launch this new venture and "start fresh" I want to take a moment to thank a few people that helped to make this possible and have helped me almost every step of the way. Thank you to Paulina Gwaltney of Paulina Gwaltney Photography for my amazing headshot (seen below.) I typically am only to be found in all black because that's my comfortable color but Paulina urged me to reach outside my comfort zone and try a "happier color" lol. Even though I am quite happy in black, for some reason I just love the color black, it definitely does not change my spunkiness at all just because I wear it. So there I am in coral, I must say I did feel quite vibrant. Paulina is a glamour photographer and if you want to feel fabulous contact her now, what are you waiting for?

Next I want to thank my friend Melissa Lavadour at Spliced Frame Productions for her willingness to answer a message anytime I had a question despite how trivial it was. Melissa will be helping me with the release of my new video/promo for marketing and I can't wait for that, I am giddy with excitement. Her goal is to capture "the story of love" through her videography, she is your gal for homecomings and weddings. Her job is so tedious and complicated I have a keen respect for what she does.

I also want to thank my good friend and fellow photographer Jennifer Blake. Jennifer is an absolutely beautiful storyteller with her photography and her work with couple's is off the charts. Jennifer has taken a small break from her couples photography but continues to design and document the growth of her children through her photography. Jennifer you took an idea and transformed it into a beautiful design and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. You are so talented and gifted, I have no doubt you will continue to go far in your endeavors, but I am most thankful for your friendship. Below you can see the gorgeous design she custom made for me. You can contact her via FB and she would be happy to design something special just for you! Jennifer Blake Photography

I also want to thank my friend Amy T at Military Baby Couture and her sister boutique Gracie Mae Boutique, for all of her hand sewn beautiful designs she constantly helps me to keep in stock for my sessions! Please take a moment to go check her boutique's out on FB and don't hesitate to ask her for custom designs. She designed this wonderful cape for my Little Red Riding Hood session and so much more for my newborn sessions, etc.

Lastly a HUGE thank you to my main man, my husband. I have NO idea how I would get through so much of what I want to do and where I want to go with this photography adventure if it wasn't for his constant support. Below is a great portrait that was taken by my friend Kendra Davis at Kendra Davis Photography. Thank you friend for providing me with such a great portrait of my main squeeze and I!

If you have made it this reading my first blog post, THANK YOU! I hope that you continue to follow me and my work, perhaps even reach out to me to become a client and a friend of mine :)
