The best part of being a portrait photographer is preserving special moments in people’s lives. But there doesn’t need to be a special occasion to have your portrait taken. Sometimes it is simply the love that you feel for your family, or that your little ones are growing up so fast and you want to capture that moment in time.

This stunning couple just recently wed and we just had to take them out for after the wedding bridal portraits. The bride with the infectious smile and laugh is a photographer as well so the pressure was on! Her new hubby a firefighter and such an easy going guy, we giggled over his new found sock model fame, somebody has to do it and do it well am...

A military moving story and saying goodbye

May 10, 2016  •  1 Comment
Every military family knows that a "long stretch" of 4 years is considered good at your duty station at the time, we consider ourselves blessed if we get to stay that long. We all know it's the nature of the beast, our beloved USMC keeps us light of foot and always on our toes and we embrace it in all it's glorious chaos and wonder. We have been in...

Winter bridal session at Paradise Point Camp Lejeune NC

March 31, 2016  •  1 Comment
I knew that when I moved here over 6 years ago and started my photography journey I wanted to shoot stylized sessions. Whether it is a family or children's session, or for a couple that didn't quite get exactly what they wanted out of their wedding and bridal portraits the day of their wedding. The Roberson's were such a delight to work with and ho...

Urban chic family session in downtown Wilmington NC

March 18, 2016  •  Leave a Comment
Hello friends! It's been a rough go of it here lately at TPUP, a lot of commotion over the last month personal and business wise. I'm gearing back up in the saddle again and slowly but surely the rubber is meeting the road again. I captured some fun urban family images for Michelle B's fam before I went on hiatus. As I was editing these I kept fi...

One of my good friends owns a horse and leases another at an equine club in Richlands, NC. She wanted a photo shoot to remember for all times with her 2 horses and I was more than happy to be a part of it! We started talking about location first, then we decided on wardrobe and accessories, then we got our hair and makeup in line and we were ready...

Births are so raw, real, and full of emotion, it is most definitely a life changing event every time I am witness to one. A new life starting off fresh into this world. Just within a matter of hours a family can go through almost every emotion known to man. I usually show up to the hospital at about 5cm dilated for mom and contractions are generall...

I know it's the day after New Year's but I'm still over here hammering away at a few Christmas sessions, oh how they make me smile! It has been unusually warm here in my part of NC lately so we had to spice it up a bit with some snow in a few of these photos. The W's have been coming to me for some time now. It started with their newborn portraits...

The weather was insane and was pretty...

I love taking photographs, I could do it about 5 days a week, who am I kidding I basically do, even on some of my off days lol. I wanted to get some great snaps of my home studio space, as photographers we like to take a small break from photographing our own sessions, products, or spaces, it kind of feels like a load off of your shoulders asking a...

The "O" family, Mrs O booked me for her maternity, birth, and newborn images as a bundle. These are actually my favorite to bundle because I get to connect with the family before and during maternity images, then be present for the birth of their new one coming into this world, and then I finally get to hold their sweet new baby at their newborn se...

Hi friends! So being in the military has it's pros and cons, and it's up's and down's. One of the down's being that at some point you know you will have to say "see you later" to so many of your good friends that you have grown close to. My friend Julie Gayler from Julie Gayler photography (find her link at the bottom of this blog post) had asked...

A fall re engagement and a smash cake session

November 16, 2015  •  Leave a Comment
Why have just one photo shoot when you can have 2 at once? My friend Autumn (very fitting for our fall photo session) wanted to have an adult cake smash to memorialize her leaving her 20's. Oh the 20's I remember those years but vaguely.. lol. I was super excited to take these for Autumn and had thought about how fun, carefree, and silly we were go...

A Wilmington NC Wedding at The Loft.

October 28, 2015  •  1 Comment
I was contacted about a little backyard ceremony for some pending nuptials for the B family. I was super thrilled to document their small wedding and then hurricane Joaquin decided he wanted to step in and shake things up a bit. Mother Nature is fickle like that but the B family didn't even bat an eyelash, they secured The Loft in downtown Wilmingt...

A whimsical country chic wedding. The Lucas Family.

My dear friend mentioned in passing one time to me that she had hired a photographer for her real wedding and was trying to stay within their financial means at the time. Sadly she told me there were only a "few images" from their entire wedding day that she would print and put into a drawer where they would stay for years, because even looking at...

I have such a hard time blogging my sessions, I only g...
